"Facebook/Meta's Marriott code FSF is one of the more recently discussed tech giant codes. FlyerTalk tech-company code thread: "Meta's corporate rate delivers solid discounts in the Bay Area." Properties near Meta HQ in Menlo Park/Palo Alto are most likely to see genuine Meta employees and to verify. Meta's standard corporate ID is a photo badge with company logo — easily recognizable by hotel staff in Silicon Valley. Hotels farther from Meta's campus presence: minimal verification. Post-2022, Bay Area Marriott full-service properties (W Hotel SF, San Jose Marriott) have increased scrutiny of tech company codes."

"I work front desk and it seems like management is really pushing to check IDs for any special rate. Personally im lazy and also don’t care that much to start a confrontation so I only verify govt rates and employee rates, but yes it is being enforced more harshly. Corporate rates I guess are easy to find online and thus abused. Again, I don’t care that much because they’re still pricey anyway !!"

"I am very rarely asked to prove my eligibility for a rate...but they have every right to ask and if you can't produce it, you will be re-rated to the current rate, which is often even higher and there is no guarantee points rooms will be available. Doing online check in rarely helps this as most properties don't actually do online anyway - especially to people who are not returning guests to the property or elite. You are taking a gamble. One that is likely to be fine. But understand you are intentionally breaking the terms of the bonvoy program and if someone really cared, there can be consequences."
