"There are countless stories of guests getting IDs checked, in some cases needing a special company letter or requiring a company fax confirming the reason for staying. Park Hyatt Sydney reportedly liaised directly with the company travel desk — one guest who resigned had their upcoming booking cancelled because they were no longer authorised to use the rate. Hyatt is noted as quite strict about checking identification, especially in Asia and Europe."

"I agree with that, but I do think that Hyatt would garner a solid amount of business by offering a FT discount code. If Hyatt did this they would get some very good press here on FT and to my knowledge be the first large hotel/airline to offer such a discount to us. If the discount was decent enough...something greater than AAA discount, they would probably steal some biz from the competition. I belong to other forums where corporations do offer forum members a unique discount. Of course in the matter of minutes that code would be plastered all over fatwallet and slickdeals and no longer be unique."

"I believe it's depends on the hotel. Hyatt will not verify your job status, as long as you made the bookings. However hotel has right to check your badges if they wish. it is very unlikely to harm you, the worse they can do is request you to make full public rate payment. I stayed at Conrad Shenzhen last year with my friend. He kept using his old company's rate code to make Hilton hotel booking even though he has already left. The front desk asked him to verify but he couldn't, so we made full payment in the end, no drama."
