"General Dynamics is explicitly called out as high-risk: "Certain codes will automatically trigger requests — the Marriott Friends and Family and General Dynamics codes are notorious for being checked." This is one of the only non-employee codes specifically named in community lore as routinely verified on Fishbowl. Additionally, defense contractors using government-adjacent rates near military hubs like Hampton VA and Portsmouth were reported as frequently asked for ID. The combination of being specifically named as "notorious for being checked" elevates G2D to High risk."

"I stayed under a corporate rate at six different hotels in Japan over the course of two weeks, I did have a company name badge with me in case anyone asked, but I was never asked to provide proof. Properties were Sheraton, St. Regis, Westin, and Marriott."

"The hotels probably won't ask if you are a bonvoy member and have your company email on your account. If your reservation was booked thru a travel site with GDS link (like concur). Or if the rate is within 15% of the sell rate it's not worth the agro since aaa and qualified discounts are probably about the same discount rate as the corporate rate. However if you book High season/relatively low corporate rate, are staying over weekends don't have a history of stays on that corporate rate or are booking an event date like Superbowl you should plan on producing ID or proof of employment and be prepared to pay the retail rate for the room."
