"General Dynamics is explicitly called out as high-risk: "Certain codes will automatically trigger requests — the Marriott Friends and Family and General Dynamics codes are notorious for being checked." This is one of the only non-employee codes specifically named in community lore as routinely verified on Fishbowl. Additionally, defense contractors using government-adjacent rates near military hubs like Hampton VA and Portsmouth were reported as frequently asked for ID. The combination of being specifically named as "notorious for being checked" elevates G2D to High risk."

"I don’t think it’s ever ok to yell at anyone in customer service. That said, I do understand the frustration as someone who’s stayed over 1,000 nights in hotels, and have come across many properties who do simply not want to upgrade and/or just follow corporate policies at all for that matter. I had a Hyatt try to charge me a resort fee on a points stay as a globalist. Point blank that’s not how it works. They don’t get to change that rule at the property level. I’ve stayed at properties that had over 40 suites available and refused to upgrade. So, OP, your property with only 4 suites is very different than many. But just to be fair, a lot of us have experienced many shady properties and being outright lied to by managers."

"My badge is definitely not from General Dynamics, but good to know. I'd rather stick with what I can proof anyway."
