"HP (alt) Marriott code 5105 is a secondary HP/HPE code, alongside the primary HPQ code and alt code 5444. HP's primary Marriott code HPQ is one of the most widely shared codes in FlyerTalk's publicly usable Marriott codes thread. The same risk profile applies to alt codes: Marriott's automated system has been documented to disable Mobile Key for high-risk codes, forcing front desk interaction. HP-heavy markets (Palo Alto, Houston TX) have heightened verification. No 5105-specific denial documented."

"I used to work night audit at a 4 diamond Marriott resort. It was me, an 80 year old valet who just slept in the cars, and a 4'11" security guard. She wouldn't check anything out because "I'm a woman. If there's someone there, they could attack me." So I, the 19 year old woman, would investigate. Guest needed towels? I brought them. I would have to go up to a computer room to run some of my reports. I occasionally had to pee, because I'm selfish like that. So whenever I was gone from the front desk, it was just unstaffed. It sucked."

"I work for the front desk, at a Marriott, & have for the last 8 years .... So when it comes to room upgrades; it goes based on AVAILABILITY... sometimes no matter the tier, if we have it available - I will upgrade the guest. Now of course, higher tiered members get dibs on the upgrades first but after we go through the higher tiered members, Ambassador, Titanium, Platinum - then we go through the other ones. I cannot express this enough : BEING NICE & POLITE AT THE DESK GOES A LONG WA"
