General Marriott analysis notes: "Select-service properties like Fairfield Inn, SpringHill Suites, and Courtyard tend to only verify IDs during high-occupancy events like local conventions." Allstate is an insurance company with significant employee travel volume, making the code less unusual to hotel staff in the Midwest where Allstate is headquartered."

"I have stayed 100s of times with various corporate rates (including Japan) and the only hotel that has asked is W hotels. Even then they didn’t push much. I have been a consultant for 20 years and many clients require you to use their rates when they are paying the bill. The hotel doesn’t have an up to date list of every employee that works for a company globally. The woman at the W said “I don’t really care, just show me anything on your phone that says your name and that company. You can type an email now “."

"I work for the front desk, at a Marriott, & have for the last 8 years .... So when it comes to room upgrades; it goes based on AVAILABILITY... sometimes no matter the tier, if we have it available - I will upgrade the guest. Now of course, higher tiered members get dibs on the upgrades first but after we go through the higher tiered members, Ambassador, Titanium, Platinum - then we go through the other ones.
