"Student (Enactus) Marriott code OXD is a student discount code for Enactus, a non-profit supporting student entrepreneurs. Student discount codes at Marriott require proof of current student enrollment — typically a valid student ID or university email verification. FlyerTalk's discussion of student hotel rates: "Student rates at Marriott almost always require showing a valid student ID at check-in — unlike corporate codes where enforcement is discretionary, student discount verification is fairly consistent across properties." The Enactus connection means participants must also prove program affiliation."

"I didn't say that it was a for sure thing where you wouldn't be asked for ID. I can't speak for every hotel as each hotel is independently owned and operated (thank the franchise model), but at our hotel, we do send prearrival emails to those who we suspect may have booked the rate program when they most likely do not work for that company. As I said, anyone can book that rate if they know the corporate code. People can even book our employee discount if they know the code. But it's up to the hotel to follow procedures at check-in to determine eligibility."

"As mentioned before some rates only company employees can use; others vendors/consultants can use. It's determined by what was negotiated w/ the company & Marriott. Rate rules will usually say it. BTW - some corp codes don't have id required in the rate rules. If you booked a legit corp rate & it didn't have that, I'd say you have a good case to the front desk to say it wasn't required. I would also print out the appropriate rate rules & staple them to the confirmation page. Of course if it does say id required, behooves you to have it."
