"The same happened to me. I arrived to Fairfield after midnight with my toddler. I had waited for about 20 minutes. Then, I just found a direct number to my hotel on Google and called the front desk. It’s just common sense! A front desk representative came to answer the phone quickly. We got checked in to the hotel without any issues. There was no need to involve police. There was no need to call people who aren’t even located on the property that you tried to check in to. There is no need to involve Ritz Carlton. By the way, why did you even bother a hotel from another Marriott chain? Obviously, Ritz and S.Regis have a better customer service, but you haven’t paid for that level of service"

"Google's Marriott code GGL is one of the most publicized codes in FlyerTalk's master list thread. Marriott's automated system is documented to disable Mobile Key for first-time use of high-profile codes, triggering front desk interaction. Google's Mountain View, NYC, and Seattle campus proximity to Marriott properties means those front desks regularly see actual Google badges. Luxury hotels (Autograph, W) with dedicated rate integrity teams are more likely to verify."

"I have been asked to show some proof couple of times. I normally show my corp id but credit card with employers name on it has worked, too. As would probably just showing my laptop with employer e-mail account or whatever. My impression has been they are happy with just about anything that proves I'm working for the company whose rate I use and why wouldn't they."
