What fallback or refusal language appears?
Discussion of proof sometimes includes what might happen when eligibility cannot be established. The same counting method found:

The distribution reflects how the material was collected and the availability of relevant discussions. It does not show that one brand checks eligibility more often than another, and the dataset has no reliable region field for a country-by-country comparison.
Practical verification checklist
- Confirm that you qualify under both the organization policy and the specific hotel rate agreement.
- Check whether leisure stays, contractors, family members, event attendees, or interview candidates are included.
- Carry legitimate proof that matches your real relationship to the organization. The agreement or property—not this study—determines what is acceptable.
- If the terms are unclear, ask the hotel or your travel administrator what proof is required before arrival.
- Keep a fallback plan in case the negotiated rate cannot be honored.
- Do not fabricate an ID, email address, employment relationship, travel order, or explanation.
Methodology and limits
Dataset
- Snapshot: 1,092 records labeled as 723 Reddit and 369 FlyerTalk records.
- Fields used for this page: source, brand label, and discussion text.
- Risk labels in the working file were not used to calculate the findings on this page.
Counting
- Term matching is case-insensitive, and each category counts a matching record once.
- Proof categories use the phrases displayed in the table, including singular and plural business cards and badges.
- The fallback-rate category matches rack, full, regular, standard, and walk-in rate language.
- The refusal category matches common forms of refuse, deny, and reject.
- Categories overlap. Counts are not mutually exclusive.
Duplicate and quality limits
- A normalized exact-match check found no duplicate rows with the same source, brand label, and text.
- Near-duplicates, quoted passages, follow-up questions, and repeated claims may remain.
- The collection is not a random or representative sample of hotel stays.
- Records can contain first-hand experience, questions, advice, quoted policy language, or hearsay.
What this study can and cannot show
It can show
- Which proof and fallback terms recur in the collected discussions.
- What an eligible traveler may want to clarify before check-in.
- Where official property, employer, or rate-agreement confirmation is still needed.
It cannot show
- The percentage of corporate-rate stays that receive an ID check.
- A reliable brand-by-brand, property-by-property, or country-by-country verification rate.
- Whether a specific code is authorized for a specific traveler.
- The current official policy of every hotel, franchise, employer, or negotiated agreement.
Responsible use and citation
CorporateCodeCheck is a preparation and research resource. Knowing a rate code does not establish eligibility. Travelers should follow the relevant employer, organization, hotel, and rate-agreement rules.
