"FlyerTalk's dedicated thread "AAA card – Do hotels check?" documents: "One frequent traveler staying 1-3 hotels per week was asked for the AAA card at about 10-15% of hotels." Another reported being asked only twice in 70-80 stays. The IHG/AAA discount is officially listed on IHG's website as a membership benefit — unlike corporate codes, this is a publicly advertised member rate. AAA rates are typically only 5-15% off, reducing hotels' incentive to verify."

"Code 150711 is confirmed in the FlyerTalk IHG rate code master list alongside Microsoft (100857558) and IBM (000243132). IHG enforcement: some franchises instruct staff to ask all guests; others only ask if discount is better than 15% of flex rate. IHG T&Cs explicitly list using corporate rates without entitlement as grounds to close IHG account. Holiday Inn Express: minimal enforcement; InterContinental/Kimpton: almost always verify."

"I work for BofA and the internal discounts website didn't list codes, instead directing employees to contact individual properties. I later confirmed the code is 109568. Unless you're employed by one of those companies, I would avoid using these codes. They do often ask for ID at InterContinental properties, though Holiday Inn locations rarely enforce."
