"Coca-Cola's IHG code (128813) is for one of the world's most recognized brands. IHG enforcement is tier-based: InterContinental Atlanta (near Coke HQ in Atlanta GA) regularly sees Coke employees and has established verification procedures. Holiday Inn Express: essentially never checks. Coca-Cola has dedicated travel partnerships with major hotel chains — the contract likely specifies usage verification protocols. hotelcorporatecodes.com notes Coke codes at "⚠️ Sometimes" at IHG."

"Overall, I have been asked for proof of corporate id or business card especially when using negotiated rates at individual properties. Now at most of these places our company has deeply discounted rates that can be 50% off the BRG and may have last room guarantee too. For example, I have been asked at the Hilton KL, IC Strings Tokyo, IC Jakarta, IC Frankfurt, IC GS Hong Kong, CP Zurich to name just a few. From friends experiences the GH Singapore is also known to ask for proof if some of the quite low negotiated rates are used. Now usually, I was asked once and then it was done and only twice at the Hilton KL, but not all the time on every stay."

"The Walmart IHG code is widely discussed online. Analysis confirms: "IHG might occasionally ask for verification, such as a Walmart employee ID, upon check-in. IHG may cross-reference submitted information with Walmart's employee database." Enforcement is tier-based: airport Holiday Inn Express properties rarely check while InterContinentals almost always do. With 1.6M+ US Walmart employees, hotel staff are familiar with what Walmart IDs look like, making false affiliation claims harder to sustain."
