"Daimler Benz's Hyatt code (99800) is for the Mercedes-Benz parent company. Daimler has major presence in Stuttgart, Germany and significant US operations in Alabama (Mercedes-Benz US Manufacturing). Hyatt's European enforcement pattern applies: Park Hyatt Frankfurt/Munich/Stuttgart carry higher verification risk. FlyerTalk's Hyatt thread: "In Europe and some parts of Asia, proof has been requested 100% of the time." US domestic Hyatt Place: essentially never checked. Daimler later restructured as Mercedes-Benz Group AG."

"We may have an issue of semantics regarding the travelzoo code. Often when Travelzoo has a special rate for a Hyatt Hotel that rate is also shown in the "Special Offers" section for the particular hotel on the Hyatt Website. The code for the comparable "Special Offer" is 13147 which is often referred to as the Travelzoo code. As this code is available on the website, it gets both stay credit and points. At least, this is my impression."

"I can understand wanting to maintain rate integrity, however, I find this to be a bit over the top. While I don't know the particulars of this rate, Louis Vuitton is a global company with employees presumably all over the world. How the hotel would have the resources to verify every employee seems a bit far fetched, especially with huge companies like IBM. Also, does this rate extend to all employees of Louis Vuitton or just traveling executives? I cannot imagine that they would be able to verify that Sally Sue (who likely does not even have a corporate ID) working at the South Park Mall store in Charlotte, NC is indeed an employee."
