"US Government (GOV) Marriott code is the government rate requiring official federal employee credentials. Per GSA policy: "Government rates are available to federal employees who must show valid government-issued ID at check-in." This is not a negotiated corporate rate — it is a federally-contracted rate with mandatory verification requirements. Marriott properties are contractually obligated to enforce government rate eligibility. Multiple FlyerTalk users confirm: "Government rates at Marriott always require showing your government badge — no exceptions at any property type.""

"Yes. 75% of the time when I travel for work. I also have a company card so usually that takes care of the identification aspect. One time my I couldn't find my Corp card and didn't have my badge on me at check-in. Had to take the current rate offering but when I visited the desk again with my card they adjusted it all. At least in the US from my experience"

"I dont even have a corporate ID or badge lol, i started my job remote and I’ve never even been to a corporate building yet despite having made five or six business trips in the last two months and never been asked to show proof i work for the company i work for. So im gonna place my bet on no, altho if you have a family with you they might question whether you’re actually on a business trip."
