"FedEx Ground is one of several FedEx business unit codes in IHG's GDS system. The general FedEx IHG pattern documented on FlyerTalk: IHG has been "very careful" in recent years about verifying codes at full-service brands. FedEx Ground staff IDs are company-standard. Properties near FedEx Ground hubs (Indianapolis, Memphis) are more familiar with FedEx employee badges and may request them. Holiday Inn Express near distribution centers: essentially never check."

"FedEx's main IHG code (109207) is documented in the FlyerTalk IHG Rate Codes master thread. The IHG enforcement pattern for FedEx: "Airport Holiday Inns rarely check credentials; InterContinentals in major cities almost always do." FedEx monitors hotel usage volume with IHG — anomalous usage in one business unit could trigger company-side audit. One FlyerTalk user documented IHG refusing to honor a rate without ID and offering to cancel after the cancellation deadline. FedEx employee IDs are physical company badges recognizable to hotel staff."

"Overall, I have been asked for proof of corporate id or business card especially when using negotiated rates at individual properties. Now at most of these places our company has deeply discounted rates that can be 50% off the BRG and may have last room guarantee too. For example, I have been asked at the Hilton KL, IC Strings Tokyo, IC Jakarta, IC Frankfurt, IC GS Hong Kong, CP Zurich to name just a few. From friends experiences the GH Singapore is also known to ask for proof if some of the quite low negotiated rates are used. Now usually, I was asked once and then it was done and only twice at the Hilton KL, but not all the time on every stay."
